OBJECTIVITY SIGNS VAR AGREEMENT WITH ONTOLOGY WORKS, INC.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., -- (March 31, 2005) -- - Recognizing the market demand for managing very large amounts of subtly interrelated information, Objectivity, Inc., today announced that it has signed a Value Added Reseller (VAR) agreement with Ontology Works, Inc. According to the agreement, Ontology Works will sell the High Performance Knowledge Server™ (HPKS), built on Objectivity's real-time data management platform, Objectivity/DB, for applications rich in complex inter-related data. The HPKS is capable of managing large volumes of information with high model complexity and query performance. This VAR agreement defines the business relationship and builds upon a technology Strategic Partnership between the two companies announced last September.
HPKS Scalability: Available in March The High Performance Knowledge Server (HPKS) Version 1.0, which is designed to manage Terabyte-scale volumes of information, will be available in late March. The Ontology Works' HPKS employs ontologies - sophisticated, high fidelity information models of an application domain. The HPKS provides the ability to process sophisticated analytic queries involving uncertainty, time, security, provenance and hypothesis management. This allows large amounts of subtly interrelated information to be managed quickly and easily with the HPKS, an important capability for government, finance, drug discovery and many other demanding applications. HPKS Technology in Manufacturing A presentation on the "The Use of Ontology in Manufacturing" will be delivered at the upcoming WESTEC 2005 Exposition & Conference by Michael Davis, Vice President, Business Development for Ontology Works. WESTEC will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA USA, April 4 - 7, 2005.
